Which c-5 to own?

If one was looking to purchase a used c-5, low milage, which year in your opinion is the best buy, and why? Thanks for your help.

HI there,
Well, first, I would suggest 00 or newer convertible.
98-99 are tough to really make sure the tops are not damaged due to improper maintenance. There were not alot of dealerships who maintained the tops correctly.
Automatic would ask which gear ratio, 2.73 which was standard, 3.15 was the performance axle ratio, and was better for quarter mile times. Gas mileage really didnt suffer too badly either.
Z are all six speeds, and faster than any other stock c5. 385 horse in 01, 02-04 were 405 horse.
Some 01 Z used oil, due to a piston ring redesign, however, if your dealership is on their game, you can have it repaired effectively. YOu can also find the 01s alot cheaper than 02.
