I wonder if someone could give some help concerning a replacement exhaust manifold?
I have a '67 fitted with a '65 350hp small block with 2 1/2" manifolds and side pipes. It has a driver side alternator and no A/C.
The R/H[passenger side] manifold has a redundant 'ear' and I would like to change it for one without this.
I have narrowed my options down to one with GM part # 3797942, of which there appears to be two types. One type says : Exhaust manifold w/choke tube, L.H., 2 1/2", all w/327 F.I., w/casting #3797942, “902 and 942” on the sides. Also used as R.H. on 1962-64 passenger cars w/327 Hi.Perf,Years: 1963 - 1965.
The other says :GM Part Number: 3797942, Exhaust manifold w/choke tube, R.H., 2 1/2", w/A/C and Sp.Hi.Perf. w/o counter-bore. Years 1964 - 1965.
I know that I need the choke tube for the carb but would both types have the same fitting ? Also what is the meaning of 'without counter-bore' in this context?
Which of these would be the best option?
Any advice will be much appreciated!
