2ndly - this is a repaired salvage title Vette.
Understading the only reason to buy a salvaged title Vette is for a KILLER price... What should a killer price be? About half of KBB $?
I know I can never get a standard money for this vehicle, but it might be an affordable way into a low miles C5. Opinions?
Beautiful Triple Black 2001 Corvette convertible with only 8688 miles. Must sell, as is, because my wife is pregnant and a baby seat won’t fit! The interior includes dual leather power seats, a premium Bose sound system with CD player and Corvette floor mats. The 6 speed manual transmission is a perfect fit for this beautiful sports car that handles like a dream. The 5.7 liter engine runs smoothly and gives incredible acceleration and performance. If you are in the area, let me know and you can test drive this rocket. The Kelly BB value on this car is about $36,000, but the reserve is much much lower. The only mechanical problem I am aware of is a minor noise in the transmission during high acceleration in first gear; however speed and performance of the car are not affected I’ve taken the car to a professional for a test drive and he diagnosed it as a synchro gear and gave an oral estimate of $1500.
I purchased the car from a Corvette salvage vendor back in Feb. of this year. When I purchased the car, it needed front end body work, which was done by a shop in Los Angeles. The only major parts replaced were: the hood, front bumper, and the passenger front quarter panel, and the entire car repainted.
