Hello All,

This is my first day in this forum, I hope someone can help. I have a 1979 corvette with L-82 and automatic transmission. At speeds over 35 MPH, there is a whirring sound that comes from somewhere behind the driver. I had my local corvette mechanic rebuild the differential and it helped, but the noise is still there.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Tires can be noisy. Does it change with road surfaces.

When was the last time the rear bearings were lubed/replaced? Does the noise change as you go around corners?
