I have factory sawblades on my 92. I think they would look cool polished (not chrome). I know the surface under the silver paint is rough. Does anyone know of a company that can strip and polish, but not chrome?

thanks

why don't you polish your own over the winter? cheap easy and looks great!

here is a thread with how to do it!

i just did mine about 2 months ago. although they were already polished and stripped i bought a 5 1/2 inch rubber sanding wheel with a few 5 1/2 buffing bonnets and put it on my 18 volt cordless dewalt drill and went to town to bring the shine back out. they look really good and shiny! i think this winter i am going to do what these guys did and wet sand them down and clean them up even nicer!

Why not do my on...

Only the outer lip of the 92 is already polished. The whole center and 'sawblades' are painted silver. I had a busted wheel that I put paint stripper on to see what was under the silver. It was ROUGH. I don't think hand sanding / polishing would cut this. The 93 to 96 seem to have the centers already polished and are only silver on the 'blades'.

i don't think any place will polish the insides of the actual blade unless you specify and that would be ALOT more money. you may find a Rim/Tire place the fixes and restores rims that will do them. the typical cost is 100+ a rim easily. mine arent polished on the inside of the blade but they are stripped and kept clean.

BTW a member here at :CAC did that Rim/s above on his vette himself so if yours are like that why not?

here is a local company here in Maryland that does Rims locally and Nationally and is recommended by the SVO Club of America :L i know the owners in a round about way and they DO do some good work! they have high speed buffing wheels that you put the rim on and the rim spins and the 12" or so buffing wheel comes down and does a nice job ;) they do everything from polishing to repair to gold and chrome work if that is your taste 1 top notch company!

Please call Wheel Worx before sending your wheels and be sure to talk with Bruce 1-888-969-7282 sorry i can't find a website for them. hmm maybe i should offer my services :L if you like i can stop up the shop this week and talk to them for you. while i'm at it i'll try and see if we can get a discount for the :CAC cause :v :D

not like that

My wheels are completely painted in the center. Only the outer rim beyond the 'sawblades' is already polished
