On three separate occasions my battery went completely dead. The first time I noticed, was that the driver’s door was not completely closed. The door was ajar about a quarter inch. The interior lights had gone out so I didn’t think anything of it. The second time I shut the car off before the drivers side headlight closed completely. The third time I shut off the car with the windshield wipers up, not in the closed position. The battery was dead in 10 minutes. The first two times I charged the battery with no Ill effects. The third time I jumped the car and made the mistake of driving immediately. I blew the alternator and had to have the car flat bedded home. Now I’m wondering what’s wrong.

Either the battery is bad or the alternator. Sounds like you putting on a new alternator, so the next step is to get the battery checked.

Just replaced both today. I have my fingers crossed. Thanks for the reply
