Im Hoping a Dem! For years now Corvette has been to conservative in my opnion. Bland interiors and trim-less exteriors. When C5 first came out it didn't even have chrome exaust tips on it for heavans sake! Im not sure why GM has taken there sports car down this route but its time for a new road. I think C6 needs to have some interior and exterior trim and styling thats tasefully "flashy" Im tired of the monochrome hum drum of the past 20 years. All GMs Republican-ness has done is made MidAmerica and Ecklers richer by selling add on do-dads to make the car look better. Why not just make it that way to begin with GM? Im tired of Corvettes for Republicans I want a C6 with a little "bling bling" and some bright flashy colors... ;)

Did you notice you insulted most C5 Corvette owners?

Maybe GM just took care of business and left the trim to each individual owner as the automotive press had a tendancy to torture American manufacturers for over indulgence..

I believe the C6 corvette should meet some of your expectations, yet probably not all.

Thanks for the laughs.

Hollywood C6

Gosh, I think I'll order some shinny stuff from Mid America and start hanging around with Alec Baldwin. That should make my boring Republican life a lot better.

Remo :cool

You want/like bling bling then maybe you should buy one of those Caddies your always talking about.;LOL

I personally find the C5 interior fine yet for those who want more..I believe its quite easy to go with Vette essentials or Ken King ..

I'd rather have a kick @ss ride with a efficient interior thats not swathed in conolly leather..that allows the car to be priced so competitively..(Ferrari world class performance and looks priced like a traditional family SUV is the reason...for your question...IMHO)

I've always found it interesting that corvettes are ragged on because of the feel of the dashpanel..

Who drives and touches the dash panel...?

Whats that whole thing about anyway?

Sure the seat leather could be better but my butt doesn't seem to care..

C4..I believe the Caddy connection should answer all your needs...for interior quality materials....

Just a by product of the sharing at BG I'd imagine..

Probably a paint and body panel improvement as well.

Ross,
I agree that the interior needs some spice. I think we'll see some brushed alluminum, at least around the guage bezels. I also agree that it was absurd that the C5 didn't have chrome exhaust tips from day one. However, all my automotive life I have enjoyed personalizing my cars. Maybe it's real wood on the dash, emblem removal, nearly always wheels and bigger tires, or some other "lesser" changes. So I don't mind spending Mid-America money to make mine a bit different from most.

My big problem with the C5 was all that black on the doors, console, and dash and almost nothing could be done. Someone made a set of $800 covers for the console, but (IMO) they don't flow into the dash, they stop like they hit a wall. The C5 interior was not designed to allow many mods. Mods are usually limited to seat coverings, shifter boot, steering wheel and door grab handles.

By offering a tastfull palet on the more bare side, fewer potential owners are "put off" by the extra touches that other potential owners would like - and can add as they like.

I'd imagine the C6 will benefit from the XLR connection and have a much nicer interior...

Wouldn't get me to spend my money on the car though...

I'd rather see performance improvements...like dual clutch sequential shift technology..and CCM rotors..(lowering 40 lbs of unsprung weight)

Will you get what you want before I see the changes I'm looking for..

No question in my mind....You win!

What do we have 80 days to go before the release?

Should be fun..

I like the C5 interior. I like black. My Torch Red 2002 Convert. has enough bling-bling!!!

I agree..red z06 with black interior works for me too..

Sorry but Corvette is a Dyed-in-the-Fiberglass Republican!

Thats is correct. "Save the baby whales for Ralph" bumper stickers do not adhere to the glass very well.
;LOL

Mixing politics and cars? Please don't, there's enough animosity in the world. Let's just talk about cars.

Politics & Late Model Vettes

Tyrel,

I'm sure by now that CFour wishes he had not linked Corvette's conservative styling with a particular political party. You are right it could get heated. On the other hand, the thread stayed pretty calm. I know I had fun with it.

Remo :cool

:) indeed :) (maybe its just that everyone is just getting used to my humor)

I used to get upset with Ross with all his bashing of the C6 on the CF, but I have to say he keeps things interesting and amusing. I actually look forward to his posts because you know it is not going to be boring. Kind of like the Eddie Irvine of F1.

I'm glad I drink CocaCola! LOL

Modify the interior, spruce it up with God, Silver, Brass anything lots of Chrome.............but please, please don't call the CORVETTE a Democrat, never mix politics with cars espically insulting the Corvette by calling it a Democrat!!! That will make all mighty cars owners hide there heads in the Sand........... LOL :) :L
Lets leave the polictics to those fine, fine know it all politicians!! after all isn't that why we pay them the big bucks? :eyerole

Well, politicians aren't paid all that well, considering the amount of stuff they have to do.

Still, it's pretty hard to have a $45,000 car represent a class that isn't somewhat wealthy. Thus, the Corvette, as well as most expensive automobiles, will continue to represent the more conservative sector of the populace. Car people are generally conservative anyway.
