Question: Will wheels and tires and TPM off 2005 fit on 2000 Corvette

I just bought a 2000 Corvette and it needed tires. I purchased wheels and tires off a 2005 Corvette. I was wondering if the Tire Pressure Monitors off the 2005 will work on the 2000 Corvette?

No, not without other changes. The wheels and tires are not a direct fit either. The 2000 had 17" and 18". 2005 had 18" and 19" with different offsets.

Thanks Big Jim I guess the good deal on the wheels and tires was not such a good deal after all. I was hoping that the TPM's would fit the new style rims but I tried one and it will not. I was also wondering if the car would read the monitors for the 2005 but I guess they will not. I hadn't even thought about the different offset in the wheels. So I guess I will have to use my old wheels.

Hey Big Jim I had some very good luck today. I was referred to Custom Wheel Distributors Inc. in OKC. Steve was very helpful and we tried to figure out how we could make the TPM's work we first thought we would band them to the wheels but decided that was not a good idea then we decided to use a thicker seal on the TPM and that did the trick. He and all his staff were very helpful and friendly. So now I have a set of 2005 corvette wheels on my 2000 corvette the offset was 3/4 inch further out on the 2005 wheels but didn't make any noticeable difference. The diameter of the tires is exactly the same as the old tires. So all is good

I will post some pictures but it may be next week before I can. The car is in the body shop getting some work done on the rear bumper cover. But I do have all four of them installed. I don't have them programed yet because of where the car is. Mike
