Can't wait to drive MY new car :D

A Solid Axle all put together and drivable. I won't know how to act. I'll give rides at CruiseFest.

On that site are some very interesting articles about the restoration of that 62. BTW...I just posted this to tease you guys...the fix is in...and the spot for that 62 is already reserved in my garage.

The 62 Will Live In New England

Len,

It's a given that either Jon, Mike or I are going to win that 62 Vette plus the $50k. Being the tight a** Yankees that we are - you're never going to see it. Sort of "Mason Dixon Line" thing.

You are all wrong. It is come home here in the Pacific Northwest. Since I am have to sell my Daytona I have an empty space already for it. So don't worry about all that entrying everyday; IT'S ALL MINE.

Well you're all wrong. I have already told the wife her car will be setting out from now on.

Speaking of the "Restored" 62, has anyone actually watched the program where they did the work? I was appalled!!!! First, this is not a resto.... Wrong everything.... 70's 350, muncie 4 spd, rally wheels.... The segment I saw last week was on how to install the engine/trans and get it running.

The show spent more time telling how to properly torque the spark plugs than how to get the engine into the car.

Did you know that if you drop the distributer into the hole and it by chance goes all the way in, then you are timed correctly. If it doesn't drop in, turn the oil pump shaft until it does. (does'nt seem to matter where the rotor is pointed)

Also the host was leaning over the open carb from the passenger side and working the throttle while his assistant turned the key. One backfire and the host would have been hairless.....

Amazing.......

Well of All The Nerve!

Paul,

Geez, if I knew that I wouldn't have entered the contest. Just be my luck to win this mongrel. What the heck, I suppose I could use it for a picking up garden supplies:L . Speaking of surprises - how about the snow in the forecast for new England. Doesn't it just take the shine off the apple. I was hoping for a short winter this year.

First I don't think they claimed it was a resto by the numbers so to speak. Second, There's 50 grand that goes with the car so you can re-do whatever it is that you want to make it a numbers matching car. I once had a buddy who would never buy a lottery ticket cause he claimed if he won the Million dollar prize the Government would take 60% of it in taxes. Let's see, 60% of a Million is $600,000. That leaves $400,000 for the winner. Not a bad deal for a dollar investment!! Same with the car. It costs nothing to enter and if you win you get a 62 Vette and $50,000. Hmmmm, I think it is worth it, don't you???;)

PS: I am expecting them to call me any minute to let me know when the car will be delivered to my door. (Yeah, right, and I won the lottery last night too!!)

Will you knock it off with the snow already? ;LOL

IT'S OVER - yesterday was the last day, so if you didn't register, that means I have more chance to win!!!!!!!!!

Hahaha.. Yeah, snow AGAIN..... Not that it matters much to me, my 64 is scattered all over my nice dry garage....
On the 62, I just felt is was a little misleading to advertise it as a "restored" classic. Don't get me wrong, if I won it, I wouldn't give it away. A free Vette is still better than none. The real thing that got my goat was the DIY program... Maybe is has some entertainment value, but as real DIY informative programming, it was sorely lacking.

I thought I read somewhere on the site that is was a driver restoration. Actually, haven't you always wanted an old Corvette that you could just jump in anytime and go without worry of putting wear on your restoration? I'd probably put 20,000 miles a year on that car. Personally I would have paid the subscription price for DIY gladly to see that carb burp while that guy had his face over it. Haven't we all learned not to do that the hard way or witnessed someone else get their eyebrows removed? Hehe. I wonder where they took it to get it started before they rolled tape on it firing for the first time.
