Hi!

I am now retracking my drivers side window but I have a problem. I can't get the door panel off because my window crank handle won't come off. According to a factory assembly manuel, it is pressed on. It feels like it was welded on!!! How do you get the handle off? Did I read the assembly manuel wrong? Need help.

The window crank does just snap on....but there is a retainer that must be removed before the window handle can be removed. Any parts store will have the tool....it slides behind the window crank and pushed the clip out, allowing the handle to be removed.

To re-install, just push the clip back in and snap the handle back on.

The clip is called an "omega" clip. It's shaped like the Greek letter omega. It's a spring wire gizmo....like a "U". You have to remove the omega clip on BOTH the window crank and the lock button to get the door panel off.

You can use a small dental pick and a hemostat to remove the clip. This is especially helpful in the area of the lock button, so you don't scratch the paint. Chuck
