Ok guys, I have a question.
The right glass on my 81 Coupe has been replaced by the look of it as the glass codes do not match up and there was the obvious sign, there was glass in the bottom of the door! ;) My question is, how do you tell the difference between coupe windows and ragtop windows?

The problem is that I can't get the window to seal and no amount of adjustment can make it any better. My Corvette mechanic even had a go at this one, but he says that the glass could be from a vert. The glass seems to have a rounder edge on the 'A pillar' side than the opposite original drivers side, which has a sharper curve at this point. This glass on the old drivers side seals good, so that is why I am thinking that someone has put a vert glass in.

Any thoughts...

The coupe and conv side windows are VERY different. On the coupe the back edge angles back while on the conv it angles forward. Guess there is about 6 to 8" difference in the position of the top rear corner (conv further forward than the coupe).

Thanks Tom, guess we were on the wrong track, so to speak.

Me old mate is sorting through his storage shed at the hundreds of doors he has, to find a better fitting glass. Maybe it is just a cheaper brand part?

Thanks

Tony
