Hi All,
My passenger side window is acting up. It will go down about half way and then it stops and the motors just makes a terribly loud clicking sound. When the window reaches full up position the motor again makes a terribly loud clicking sound. It didn't used to do this, and the driver's side window does not have this problem.
Any suggestions as to the problem?

Thanks.

It sounds like the window ribbon is broken. This is a common problem for the early C4's. You can purchase a ribbon from MadVette etc. Another alternative is to replace it with the newer style that are gear driven and do not use a ribbon - eBay has them from time to time. I have my newer style and I am waiting for a little cooler weather - which is almost upon us. ;)

You're right, now that it is cooling down I can get to work on this window. Thanks for the advice!

Take your time with it Kieth. A lot of small things like the lock mechanism to disconnect. Took me about 2 hours once I figured it out. I just did mine a couple of weeks ago, picked up a ribbon at Ecklers for about $25. Tedious but not too bad a job.

Carlo
