Thought I would post this idea here for you resto mod guys.

A friend is doing a 57 his way and wanted a custom windscreen.

What he did was buy a stock windshield and have it cut down. He put a cracked windshield in place, created a template from cardboard for the shape he wanted. He contacted Auto City Glass and they sold him a new windshield and used his template to cut it to size. The charged him about $200 to cut it. The template is a must and it can be done using shower stall plastic for a more perminate form.

Overall an interesting mod. I think the spoiler is a bit too much. I like the updated mirrors. :w With the right color paint job the car could look great.

That's a very interesting project. Did he start with an original body or a repop? What's the engine?

Since it adjustible you can always put it spoiler down like this.

It started as a one piece body and he is looking at a 2 tone silver.

Its a LT-1 with auto. I will build a web site this week with the different ideas he has tried.

Wow he is really over the top with that car, not too many being built like that. I think its a hate it or love it type of car.

I can see the hours invested in its design and then actually trying to make that idea work on a car.

I am in the love it catagory on that one.

It takes real passion to build a car like that

The retractable spoiler is an innovative idea. It sure looks better down. :w
