windshield installation question

I picked up my new PPG windshield friday and have it mocked up so that I could test fit all the trim on the newly replaced WS frame. I have a stick of 1/8" spacers that the glass shop gave me. However it looks like 3/8 would be a better fit now. Here are the questions that I have if someone could help me.

1. Know where I can get more rubber spacers other than a glass shop. I live to far from the one I bought the WS from.

2. Any tips on spreading the Urethane sealant?

3. I am missing the 2 blocks that mount to the firewal and keep the WS from sliding down. Anyone have pics of these and \or know where I can get replacements?

4. Lastly my trim fits great on the sides with no gaps. However, the small top trim piece fits tight only in the middle. when the WS begins to curve on either side the trim no longer fits flush. I still think this is correct do to the fact that the curve of the WS in the frame is much more aggresive than the natural curve\bend of the trim peice. This would cause the tight fit in the middle and the small gap as it curves correct? Pics of this would be great as well if anyone has any.

My car is a 1971 convertible.

Thanks
Wade

I watched the shop install the ws in my friend's 73. You will definetly want the blocks that hold the ws in place. Secondly, they used a standard caulking gun to apply the sealant. He laid a fairly large bead of it, set the ws in place and pressed it down. I doubt that I would do it myself. Just my thoughts.

There's more to it than just the sealant and spacers - do you have the cleaning and UV-protectant primer for the glass and the silane primer for the body opening? The sealant won't bond to the glass or to body paint without the special primers.

The frame has been stripped down and repaired. I have the primerless urethane glue that I got from the Glass shop. I have 2 tubes and it is made by DOW. The glass is a PPG peice. Not sure why this would not work if this is the way that a professional shop would do it.

Thanks
Wade
