Can anyone tell me how to remove the "chrome/black" moulding that surrounds the windshield and back glass without ruining the moulding or breaking the clips that hold it on? Also is this moulding to be black or chrome? -- I've seen it black on many cars. I would like to redo it correctly. Thanks

it was black from the factory, dont know how to remove it, but then again i always get my buddy that works for auto glass to take any glass out i have or reseal them, i think there is a tool that does this, not sure where to get it.

I believe I read somewhere that there is a special tool to remove that molding thatyou can pick up at an auto parts store. You might want to try that. As far as chrome(polished?) or black, they did switch to black some time but not sure when. The 80 is definetly black. I recently repainted mine, but left it on the car. Sanded off old paint, taped off the window and covered car with plastic. Primed and spray painted, and pretty suprised with the results. If you can figure out how to get the molding off of the car, it would be a whole lot easier then taping off the whole car. I did my front molding that way too.

The tool to disengage the molding clips is about five bucks at any auto parts store; don't try to remove the moldings without it, or you'll ruin them.
