:( :( Okay folks My 1987 Corvette needs windshield replaced, the windshield is around $200, the Rubber molding is $287.00, helppppppp, thats crazy, anyone got any info? THanks and Merry Late Christmas and Happy New Year.

the weather stripping for a 75 only comes as a set and is a mere 500.$ bad news is i need a set.mike

Are you sure, I called to have it replaced and person said the molding is dealer only $270.00 I guess its the molding the glass sits on? Its one big peice, saw them on ebay for $106.00 so i guess i'm looking in the right place

Im not sure but I didnt know of any molding for the windsheild.Try calling some more glass places. Most of the time they will reuse any moldings or they will include it in the price and its usually cheaper than buying it elsewhere.

Windsheild

My '88 has a black rubber (looks like rubber) gasket that I can see from the drivers seat. It looks like teh windsheild sits on it. It looks cracked and old. I'd replace it if I had to replace the windsheild.

I seen that.Thats not what there talking about.Thats the weatherstripp that runns along the top of the windsheild frame so that your roof seals good against windsheild frame.I think Bonell is speaking of is the dried urethane or Butyl that is used to install the glass, not for sure but this is usually how its done.
