Windshield wiper cover on '69

should be able to manualy push rod coming out of vacuum can and open them or just pull up on grills and it should stay open.

Hi Mpit69:w
I did look in my Owners Manual last night and that's what it said. (I didn't have the manual when I made the posting). Only trouble is that either I'm a 97 lb weakling;help or the rod is frozen cause when I put a screwdriver into the front access hole after removing the rubber grommit, I couldn't push the rod back in :bang for s*** Looks like I should stock up on "Rain Dance" kuz we don't have wipers:eek

I'm with Mpit69, just gently pull it open at the center of the windshield. Pull it up and towards the front of the car at the same time. This is how I got the door on my old 71 open. If that doesn't work, there's something more to it than a stuck rod, I would think.

Update:s
Wiper door now opens. Traced all vacumn lines in motor compartment and 2 were disconnected. Guess I did not reconnect them after work done last summer. But, wipers do not go on:CRASH
I have a troubleshooting:r chart and I have to investigate 5 troublesome areas- some of which I don't understand WTF they are talking about. But at least some progress is being made.
