Where can I buy the whipers for my 73 do any of the local auto parts store carry them? Or do I order them fro the catalog guys...

Thanks

Daniel

You may find that the average parts store blades will get 'caught' on the edge of the hood when in motion and damage the paint. I think Corvette Central carries the correct blades for '73s.

Wow - love that search function on CAC!

My just acquired 75 came with new wiper blades and the passenger side does just hit the hood. The profile of the new wiper blade is just a little too high. I first confirmed this by looking at the pictures in the gallery for the 1975 - one of the engine pictures showed the wiper.

Corvette Central does have them, but with silver satin finish. I want them black to match the wiper arms. I am going to try local parts stores.

i would guess you could just get the refills, without buying the entire blade. you should have no clearance problems then.

i found the NAPA exact fit blades work just fine on my 78. no clearence problems. i was skeptical, but like you, i looked through most of the more popular catalog company's wares, and found only satin (or stainless) blades, not blacked out replacements.

Actually everything except the arm was replaced. I'll check the refill part for height but I think the part between the refill and the wiper arm (whatever thats called) if the part that is too high.

Update: I bought a pair of part # 60-016-2 from NAPA. The box says exact fit. They are black and do in fact clear the hood on my 75. Total with tax: $15.31.

They are 16.5" long so I had to adjust the wiper linkage so they would not hit, but now they work fine.

First problem solved.
