Hey:

I noticed a hopefully not big problem with my wipers today. I was caught in a little rain, so i turned on the wipers ... easy. But after about 12 cycles or so, the got cought on the way down, kinda like the pass. side one was coming down too fast for the driver side. Has anyone experienced this ... to finish driving home, i had to pull over and 'unhook' them from each other. Any ideas please let me know. Im hoping this is a quick fix but I do not have much knowlege on this part of the car...for i hardly ever drive it in the rain. It has the correct size wipers, nothing looks bent, i have no idea.

I need to drive it upstate this weekend and they're calling for scattered showers .... :duh

Any help please...

-Kevin :( :(

I'd look at the wiper linkage. There may be some excesive play that is causing one side to lag behind and get caught up on the other wiper.

well, everything seems to be intact .... nothing bent, so i tried adjusting the gap ... same problem (adjusted both ways)

-any other ideas??

Kevin

i tried the next two sizes smaller .... same thing :mad

i'm getting really fustrated now ... maybe if i drive fast enough, i can dodge all the rain drops :D

any other ideas?

How much water is on the windshield? If there is not a lot of water the wipers can kind of skip or get stuck on the windshield a little bit. Thus it might allow for the wipers to get caught on each other. The other thing I have had to do with mine is make the drivers side wiper much lower then the passenger side. One reason was because of the wipers getting caught, the other because the drivers side would get carried away and run off the side of the car. A fun trick to watch, but not very effective (or is it?).

Thank You!!

Thank you very much bobchad .. that was the problem ... the passenger side was out of adjustment, i would never have seen that. :beer

Thank you all for you help ... till next time :w

An excellent example of how this forum & the experience of others helps corvette owners solve probems! Many times it is something simple--the difficult part is locating the specific solution. Great job guys!
