Yes, thats the post.. Since i don't have the pigtail in front of me, i don't know the colors of the wires. Let me know.

the colors listed on that other thread for the drivers side door match up fine between the ptgtail and the door wires so we will be good there.

Still need to get an answer for the passenger side door.

on the passenger door the five wires are :
pink, orange, purple, black, and black. The two blacks both go to a common ground right on the door panel. The issue is the new pigtail has different colors. Pigtail colors are:
orange, blue, black, black, black.
Now, I THINK:
orange goes to orange
blue goes to purple?
2 blacks go to ground....... but which 2 of the 3?
the last black goes to pink?

would be nice to be able to know for sure on this door

Hi guys..the passenger side door is still an issue with the matching up of the wire colors. Any help would be appreciate.

this is what I wrote on the other thread. craig...the orange and gray wires (the 2 on the one side)go to each of their respective colors...heres the other side...purple to black...tan to tan and pink to blue.

sorry for the delay, haven't been here!

good luck,bill......:w

that's for the driver's side door.

We still need the passenger side door which is different

Andy/Barry,
Does the 79 still have the original pigtain on the pass. door? If so, just line up the new one with the old one - they have two wires on one side and three on the other. In my case, someone had cut off the original pigtail and taped the wires to the door and I had nothing to go on. the wires will go on the same position. Hope this helps.

that was the situation on the drivers side, the pigtail had been cut completely.

The passenger door does still have the pigtail so I'll try your idea. thanks!

I got both pigtails installed for you today. Hooked them up to the door lock switches and both doors are working.
the drivers door is working great, but the passenger door needed a bit of help to get started but after cyvling it a number of times it started working a bit more smoothly. I think the issue is probably just years and years of dirt and grease on the actuator slowing it down and making the motor work harder.
We will try it again tomorrow when you are here and if needed maybe some brake cleaner squirted in there if we can hit the actuator will clean some of that crap off it. Either that or some WD40.

Well, while Andy was here today and we were working on his car we gave the entire door lock assembly mechanism on the troublesome passenger door a healthy wash of WD40. After that and cycling the locks a good number of times it loosened itself up pretty good and finally started working properly. Andy finally has both doors with functional operating power door looks. :beer
