Wiring the tail lights.

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but since the tail lights are in a C3 bumper, I guess this is as good as any.

I have body parts all over the garage, so in order to organize the place a little, I hung the hood on the wall. After doing this, I got inspired to hang the rear bumper over the work bench. It is an '82 urethane bumper.

Since I am probably going to buy a fiberglass rear bumper when I finish up the body, I started getting more creative and decided to wire up the tail lights to come on when I turn on the garage main lights.

How is the best way to convert 120 volt AC to 12 volt DC? I thought of a battery charger, but did not want to tie it up full time. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Bill

They make converters that you can buy. You can usually find them in either the camping or automotive sections of most stores. They typically come with the female end of a cigarette lighter wired in, so I would just buy the male end with extra wire (available in automotive department or at Radio Shack) to plug into it. Alternatively, you could cut off the female end and wire from there, but then you lose some of the functionality of the converter if you ever decide to use it for other things. Also look at cell phone places, they alwsy carry them to allow you to use a car charger at home.

Thanks!

I did not think of Radio Shack. The last time I was there they had all kinds of converters.

When I get it "Lit Up", I will post some pics.
