ok i have a 95 vette automatic with 104k on it. i bought it a couple weeks back and it ran great. today i parked it in a lot and went back to it and started it and right away i noticed the asr light and asr off and check engine light on, so im like what the heck. so i drive it down the road and the dang thing goes in 1st and 2nd pretty rough and i couldnt even get it in drive or od. so i pulled over to a gas station and dissconected the battery to clear the computer. and it worked for about 60 miles then it came right back on. during the time the lights were off the car ran great. so i go to autozone to get the codes read and we cant find were to stick the plug in to find the codes.
to top it off i think this is the worst day of my life.. please shed some light on it

do you have to take the cover off under the steering column
If it is where it belongs, you don't have to remove anything.

Always possible that a previous owner did something stupid though.

You may have to stick your paw in there & feel around. As Steve9899 suggest it probably was moved. You can get your hand up behind the trim panel. If you still can't locate it you may have to remove the panel. I have the manual if you need help.

have you guys heard of this though, its weird the asr and serivice asr light comes on and the car runs like crap.... then it goes away after u shut the car off for awhile

You have to pull some codes. Did you find the data link connector yet?

Sent you a PM, not sure if it got off ok? Advise.

ok i found it somebody unbolted it and tucked it away, i took it to autozone and there scanner wont read it great... now what????

I can send you some info for diagnostics using the 95's internal computer. Being you found the DLC you can ground 2 pins & it shud give you some codes.

Need your e-mail address & will forward scans to you. My e-mail is roman67844@aol.com.

xxx_letudowneazy_xxx@yahoo.com... i found a thread in here of someone that had the same problem and they said they replaced alot of stuff before they found that the air conditioning wiring harness module was and also affected the tranny and alot of other stuff. i just need to know where it is

rabbit did you send???????
i replaced the plugs on the vette and it runs better and i was thinking it could of been the reason to throw the service asr light but on the way home it came on and was shifting like crap

Is the connector (DLC) in good condition. I have some scans for you relating to pulling codes on OBD I.
