I'm just back from Detroit and a couple days at the Woodward Ave Cruise. A great event, and my first chance to see a 2006 Z06 up close and personal. What a great looking car--the small intake on the nose is the first clue the car is something different, and it's the first thing I noticed on the cars coming down the street. The fender flares and wider wheels/tires make the car look much more aggressive. A perfect stance. And good sounds out the exhaust at WOT; too bad it's so quiet at idle and when just cruising--that would be my only complaint. Oh to have the $$ to put one in the garage!
I was also impressed with the Pontiac Solstice--it's better looking in person than it is in photos.
The "coolest" car we saw was a VW Beetle that had the body and interior replaced with wrought iron in its old shape. The car was totally transparent--you could see right through it. No windshield or window glass either. It was raining and the folks in it had a couple umbrellas poked through the roof to keep out the wet.
Cheers, Andy
