would 2 bottles of Water Wetter be too much?

I put in one bottle and in addition to my fans turning on at 198, I only see temps over 200 in the hottest weather.

Should I be satisfied with 200 being the hottest my motor will be? Would it be too much to add another bottle of Water Wetter in there to make it run even cooler?

Edmond,

I have a couple of bottles dumped in also and in 110 degree temp. I am seeing about 210 on my guage.

You mentioned you have your fans turning on at 198 - how do you have that happening? Did you do some computer re-programming?

?????????????????

HI
How did you put the water wetter into your vette??

I tried and every time l took out some anti freeze, it replenished itself. l had to finally put it into my overflow tank.

thanks

Alan

Hi,

I bought a custom burned chip from Jeff, the moderator of the C4 mods section and one of the things he did was have the fan come on at 198.

I believe that for your years, you guys do the reprogramming, there isn't a replaceable chip like the earlier C4's. I think it's called LT1 edit or something like that?

Alan,

I followed Ken's suggestions:

drive the car up Rhino ramps.
use a baster to baste out the amount that the Water Wetter would displace.
pour Water Wetter in.

My antifreeze didn't replenish itself. I think Ken said something that if you didn't raise the front end, that's what would happen.

jblowers, what were the temps before the water wetter?

Before using the water wetter, temps were running 215 and slightly above. I also discovered that I had the remains of a bird nest between the AC coils and and the radiator coils which wasn't helping.

I bought a temp sensor that grounds the fan relays at 200* and turns them off at 185*.

Its a cheap alternative to having a prom burned. (About 35.00 through Corvette Central)

Hi

How does this apply to my year? I parked my car on a very steep grade that is angled more then rhino ramps and still didn't accomplish anything.

Alan

p.s. is the 96 that much different then the 95?

Try this, it worked for me. (I added two bottles, one in the overflow & one in the radiator)
On a COLD , I repeatCOLD engine, remove your radiator cap then start the car. As the engine begins to warm up, it should draw enough coolant into the system so you can add the Water Wetter into the radiator. Once install this bottle, replace the radiator cap & then add second bottle in the overflow.
