Everyone,

I belong also to http://www.StevesNovaSite.com, and there we have a member (Nightshade) who prints out calendars, and last year he selected 12 Novas and produced a calendar that I have been using all year.

Well, this year, the idea was developed to make an SNS-sponsored calendar, and candidates came forward and the membership voted on their favorites (one vote per generation), and then the 12 Novas were selected (3 of each generation) to cover for the whole year. And yes, my Acadian was voted as one of the months' image (I think for March).

Anyway, wouldn't that be cool to do for our Vettes?

Now, I am just proposing the idea. I do not gain anything if SNS's Jeff (Nightshade) were to be the person to handle this. For all I know, there is someone in CAC already who can deliver a high-quality calendar worthy of showing the voted-on Corvettes from our members. And like I said, that would be fine too -the important thing is to get this idea going.

Here is how the idea was proposed and how it was organized >>> http://www.stevesnovasite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129259

With 6 generations on Corvettes, we could place the self-nominated corvette owner's generation in two months of the year within the calendar. Perhaps, place a cover nominee selected by the the site administrators or make it a voted position as well.

So what do you all think? If this year is too late, then we could certainly start planning for the next year (2011).

It depends on the price and the quality of the printing. If it looks like it came off of someone's computer printer, I'll pass.

I have not seen this year version's quality, but 2009's was pretty good. Not like the glossy ones with kittens or puppies that get sold near the end of the year. And they are $10 dollars for 2010 plus shipping.

So you pass on the idea, or you pass on participating should it ever get adopted, or you pass in purchasing one should it get adopted?

I used 2009's as a X-mas present for the men within my family. Men are guilty and often stereotyped of forgetting important dates, so I placed the spouses birth dates on the calendar, and I give a calendar to my brothers, brothers-in-law, and father-in-law in my side and my ex-wife's (well, we've been separated for about 3 years). They all like the idea. :thumb

I'd be interested. I'd like to have a C3 specific calendar since a lot of vette calendars seem to focus more on C1,C2 and C5+ models

^^^^ Same here, C3 specific calendar. Count me in. :thumb

This looks like an easy way to make one. I could do a different vehiclein my driveway for each month! :-)

Yes Lori, I know what you mean. Technologically speaking, we have come full circle on creating or recreating almost anything.

But the idea that I am communicating, And in fact if one thinks about it deeply (as in my case :L ), it implies that because it is so easy nowadays to make one appear on the cover of the US News magazine or even Corvette Fever, that the concept of a popular vote among membership peers adds legitimacy to the project, and should one's car gets voted-in to appear in it, it appeals because we hold our membership in high regards.

Also, I would like to hear from Rob and some of the Moderators to see if they would support this.

Thirdly, Jeff (A.K.A. Nightshade in StevesNovasSite.com ) has the equipment to make the calendars already, and I could ask him to bid for the chance when the time comes, but if there is a member within CAC who has the tallents and equipment to make the calendars, perhaps you should step in and voice your willingness to undertake the project. I do not speak on behalf of Jeff, but I believe that he could produce the calendars for about $12 dollars, perhaps less, per copy. So that would be less, perhaps, than the option that Lori (and Lori thanks for contributing with your ideas) suggested.

An all-C3 calendar is a great option. And if it works for the C3's , then it could also work for an all-c1, all-c2, and so the other generations. :)
