Wow-first 1/4 mile run in the LT1!

I went to the track here in G-ville FL. My first time ever "draggin." Set the rears at 32psi, went around the H20, heart pounding, sun is setting, did a little burnout, my "stage mate" was a Z28. I creeped up, oops, sort of went past pre-stage to the stage, still nervous. The tree hops down, I launch practically at idle (maybe 1100 rpm). I hang on and make sure the Z stays behind me..here are the results....

Sorry, wife and the little one have the digital camera now down at the condo:eyerole and can't post a real "authentic" pic.
Overall pretty happy with the LT1. I couldn't run again b/c I needed a helmet (if quicker than 13.9). I really don't plan on taking her to the track again but I really just wanted a solid number to know where she is at! A lot of Mustangs were there running high 14s at 94ish mph! Gotta love the Bowtie Power! Keep the shiny side up!

You just work on that launch technique and youre in the low 13s.

I would also lower the psi a little more.

Nice run!

The LT1 is a greeat engine, 13.8 is good, keep in mind that you can chisel away at the ET and trap speed with no modifications, it just takes practice...

That, of course is only if you want to, I understand that clucthes aren't cheap. You have to admit, it's a hoot running full throttle down the track and hearing that V8 Scream!
