Yes, its that time of year again.
Susan and I have gotten the bug and the money to get a 2nd Corvette and this time we want a 6sp C5. (alas, its not a BUNCH of money, but its some)

Coupe, Z06, or Vert: Really no more passion for one than the others. I love em all! Stated those years as I am under the impression that those will have an average amt. of miles and are the most trouble free in my price range.

Prefer more options instead of base model.

If you'd rather send it down to the beach (instead of into the garage), let me know.

Thanks everyone for helping us out. (I have contacted a few of you with requests for more info and pics. Say Hi, Please)

Hi Rain.:w

I'm from the MS Gulf Coast too - born and raised here.

Good luck and happy searching for your next baby. I bought my '98 in June from Shannon and William Rector at Corvette Palace in Austin TX. If you decide to go with a dealership instead of an individual sale, they are really Top Shelf. Check them out at their website www.corvettepalace.com

Best of luck to y'all. Look forward to pictures of your latest addition.

Thanks for the info on Corvette palace.
Heard from a fella over in Iraq who is from OS who is selling his C5. While he is deployed, his girlfriend(who works at TuranFoley) is trying to sell his Vette so he can order a C6 when he gets back.

His is a bit out of my price range, but a nice fella. (even though he is not a member of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Corvette Club) hahahaha

Thanks again, the search continues.

You're welcome... Don't hold it against me but I'm not a member either.:)

I've checked for a website and discovered that there isn't one. Can you steer me in the direction where I can get more info on MGCCC - such as dues, meeting place, membership requirements?

I appreciate any info you can share.

Sure thing -
Nothing wrong with not being a member.. (I had my vette a year and kept in touch with the club, but never joined)
They used to meet on Friday nights and I always had a gig on Fridays so was never able to participate.
Then meetings moved to the third tuesday of each month and that was perfect for me!

Since joining, I've participated and placed 2nd in my division at "Vettes by the Shore" (an all Corvette event we host in June) and took 23 Corvettes up to Monticello, MS (a few weeks ago) to run the Tail of the Lizard - MS Hwy 587 up the Pearl River.

Meetings are currently the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Biloxi Yacht Club. 6:30pm
Cash Bar, 12$ optional dinner buffet.

Christmas Party is at the Yacht Club this year on Dec 1st.

Fun group of folks. Errol Hottard (of Hottard Bus Lines) just joined after Cruisin the Coast.
We have a few lawyers, doctors, a casino GM, home builders, and other professionals too.. but we don't hold that against them.. they are just as welcome as "us regular Joes". hahaha

Keep in touch!

Thats great news!

Another spliter group to hand out with is the Confederation of Corvette Clubs of Louisiana.

Felix is a great guy and the Confederation seem to do lots of cruise events:

no dues, no officers, no bylaws.. just fun!

Still shopping. Have had a few nice models across my desk but still looking for that well optioned pearl!

ttt,

Follow up:

After showing Susan a dozen C5s, we are now looking for either a Coupe or a Vert and with an upcoming new business we are starting in January of 2005, our budget is now limited to $23,500.

Keep those 6spds coming!

A guy up the road from my house has a small lot and has a 99 coupe for i thnk 22 or 23k. I think it has 25,000 on it. Here is the bad news. It was stolen and repainted a plum color and actually doesnt look that bad. It also got the 99 chrome wheels I think the title has been cleared from the theft. Its a good looking car and he has had it a while. Not exactly what you are looking for but just thought i would throw it out there. I will keep my eye open here in the burg

Thanks for the heads up -
Probably picked it up at auction. Learned this week that even salvaged titles can be wiped clean by the right people thru the proper loop holes.. just amazing!
Might check it out on our way back thru Hburg on Friday.
Where is it located?

Thanks Tim, Shame its an automatic..
Hollar if ya surf past any 6spds .. especially with that low mileage!

I've essentially taken December OFF to write new songs and get back into the studio. Also spending lots of time with the family and helping Susan start a new business.

SO, Ive got the time to shop and fly out to pretty much any location and drive the car back.

Keep me posted and I appreciate your "find"

I'm sure you have probably heard this already but I'll throw it into the pot just as an FYI. I was reading on another post on CAC that it's easy to miss info because services like Carfax don't always have all the straight scoop (in spite of what they may advertise). Someone suggested that when you find a car you like, you can give your insurance agent the VIN and he can search HIS resources for any claims of accident, salvage, theft, etc. Don't know firsthand if it's true but it sounds legit. You would think insurance companies would be meticulous in their record keeping and research to protect themselves as well as their customers.

Let us know if you go that route, and if it is true.

You bet I will. Had not thought of that. But my INs Agent is a good friend and neighbor. Will certainly ask him about that.
