WTB: C4 Vert Luggage Rack

Friend has me searching for this:

We are in the market for a
factory luggage rack for our car. A rack that fits 86-96 convertibles
is the same. We'll accept new, used or whatever. Reasonably priced
please. Chevy has recently discontinued the racks, so can't order thru
the dealer and none of the major Vette parts suppliers has one.

Have you tried Jim Glass Corvette Specialists in Kingston New York? I purchased a new one last March from them on e-Bay and they have advertised at least once since I purchased mine. You can find them by using a search engine on the web. Word of caution - if you buy a used one, make sure that it includes the mounting template, which is a paper pattern that you tape to the rear deck. It locates the holes for the mounting well screws so that you get an accurate placement. I would not want to try to install a rack without the template. Also, if you purchase a used one, make sure that all of the well screws are included, otherwise you will have a tough time finding repacements, if at all. I purchased a second, new luggage rack from GM shortly after installing the one from Jim Glass on my 1994 convertible in case I needed parts. I might part with it, as a favor to another vette owner, if you do not have any luck with your search. I previously replied to your posting this morning with the same message, but I did not see it posted in the forum, so I thought I would try again.
