wtb hooker side tubes

headers

don't have what you're looking for but do have some questions on the headers. where did you get them from and how much? I've heard of a couple other people with the hooker headers and they noticed a good performance enhancement. what about you?

I just ordered a 2nd set. I'm not sure if I want to part with the originals, as they have the glass pack inserts in them. I ordered the second set to run wide open. They are $220 something from Barnett Performace plus free shipping. Thats a good deal considering most places sell for $250 plus shipping. They weigh about 15lbs each.

Maddog, When I install my new pipes, I may not be happy with the sound of running them wide open. If so, I would sell them to you. Let me know if that is cool? I won't get 'em installed til next week, and lord knows when I will be able to take her out for a ride (Chicago snow).

the glass packs not loud enough, too many ricers in Chicago with extra loud stereos that you can't hear your Vette at a stop light ? ;LOL

There are a couple of other options for better sound
sprial turbo baffles
chambered inserts (you have to make these fit)

check out 67heavens website for a sound bit of BB with open pipes it is
LOUD

LOL Craig,

I remember when you sent me the sound clip of your TPI and Hookers over a year ago, when I was in the market for the system. I still have the clip on my desktop and play it from time to time (especially in the Winter). I actually uset to play it every day at 4:54 PM before leaving work! My cubicle mates all thought I was nuts (none of them owned Corvettes).

The glass pack inserts are a significant reduction in noise. My friends '66 327/350 with factory style chambered side exhaust is louder than my big block with the glass packs in it.

I fired her up last week with just the headers. It was pretty dang loud, but the sound was just fantastic. I did see and hear 67 Heaven fire. I was following that rebirth for quite some time. Although there is no substitute for hearing this happen in person.... like in my garage!!

Any ideas where I can get some sound clips of the Turbo Spiral Muffs or the Chambered?

http://www.spiralturbobaffles.com/

best price is supposed to be thru http://www.c3sharktank.com/

you will have to look thru the C-1/C-2 section of CAC there is a guy who put a section of chambered pipes in his midyear with Hookers and tells how he did it.

my pipes are just Hooker glass packs with over 30,000 miles on them you will just have to drive more to get that sound ;LOL

ps the sprial turbo baffles are supposed to offer improved performance in big blocks more so then small blocks (scuttlebut)

Not too much in the way of audio on the Spiral site... For now I'm just gonna run em wide open, nothin like no restriction! Maybe they blow my ears out, but I'll still be smilin, cause then I can't hear my G/F beeeach at me.

Do you have a link?
Here ya go :)

http://www.barnettperformance.com

These are the guys who sold me my initial set up about a year ago for under $1000 (Headers, Tubes and inserts) with free ship!

They don't have an online catalog, but they have a toll free. Just call em if you are looking for something. Best pricing I found anywhere... and I looked hard!

BB header and side pipe combo

hey guys.....

Anybody, got any leads as to where to get a whole one piece header with side tubes for a BB.

Only thing I have been able to find is one or the other, not both together as one.

thanks,
Dave
