It appears that that Cadillac will not have "saleable" cars coming off the line till early Aug. now. No cars will be at dealers before the 1st week in Sept. This comes straight from the source.

Any idea what caused the delay?

Will the delay carry over to the C6?

It very well might trickle down to C6 indeed. Quality issues were a big problem when I was there a couple months ago.

Quality issues - what quality issues?
If you know something, why don't you say it instead of hinting at something.

As to the XLR, is anyone planning on buying one next month? If not, who cares if XLR production is delayed.

The XLR uses a different assembly line than the Corvette, so delays there would not normally have any connection with the Corvette line. Remember, the Bowling Green operation is an "assembly" plant. For the most part, all they do there is put the parts together to get a finished car.

CFour,

GM/Chevrolet has a long history of delaying the launch of the Corvette - and now it looks like the XLR too.

Remember the 1968 Corvette was originally to be released as a 1967 model?

Remember the 1983 Corvette - delayed until 1984?

Remember the 1997 Corvette C5 - delayed due to poor quality parts and embargoed cars?

When do you think the C6 will arrive?

Like I really hate that and feel their pain.

:cry

Guess the customers will just have to wait it out on the Cabin Cruiser or at The Club. What a Hoot!

;LOL

Like many different issues some drivetrain some fit and finish and some roof related.

CFour,
Is the C6 have a 6.0 or 5.7 Ltr V8. That is something no one can say exactly. Can you share some drivetrain thoughts. It seems we only focus on the cars looks. Thanks

It's a 6.0. That's what it says on the valve covers.
I got this info from someone else, but he's reliable.

"Half Breed"

My father married a pure Cherokee
My mother's people were ashamed of me
The indians said I was white by law
The White Man always called me "Indian Squaw"

[CHORUS:]
Half-breed, that's all I ever heard
Half-breed, how I learned to hate the word
Half-breed, she's no good they warned
Both sides were against me since the day I was born

We never settled, went from town to town
When you're not welcome you don't hang around
The other children always laughed at me "Give her a feather, she's a Cherokee"

[Repeat Chorus]

We weren't accepted and I felt ashamed
Nineteen I left them, tell me who's to blame
My life since then has been from man to man
But I can't run away from what I am

[Repeat chorus]

Is this the song you are talking about?

i saw a picture of the LS2 and thought it was 5.7 liters???i could not see the valve covers because the coil packs were in the way.i wonder if the intake manifold will fit the LS1.
as far as the delay,at least they will get it right instead of just sending them out.i would love an XLR next to the c5.100 shot of n2o and some drag-radials,mid 12 second XLR,hell ya!!!!
later,Todd.

that describes me,only difference is im Sioux,my moms side did not like my dad (white man from L.A.)i never had to much problems growing up as i dont look that much like im indian.i remember after a indian guides meeting going to 7-eleven(still dressed like indians)a cub scout den was making fun of my friend and i,the cubs father ran out and pulled me off of the cub scout,i handed the cubs patch to his father,i tore it off his arm and gave him a bloody nose.i was 10,i guess i passed my warrior test.later,Todd.

Yes indeed, I think Cher did that one in the early 70s

Saw a XLR on the road yesterday..

My wife and I were heading home after breakfast and saw a XLR, with Georgia Dealer plates in Canton, Georgia yesterday afternoon.

We were stopped on opposite sides of the intersection and I got a fairly good look at it. With the top up it doesn't look too bad.. I am curious how much trunk room will be left when the top is down in the "trunk" though...

The "good news / bad news" is after looking at it my wife commented she would still rather have a MB SLK...but I guess at the MSRP of the XLR it doesn't matter much...
