Carlo,

Try reaching under the car and in between the rear of the fender (the back side of the fender that is facing the engine compartment) and the blower box. Feel your way aft and above the emission's solenoids. Sometimes one can feel the latch, but having the leverage to pull it loose is tough. Try locating the hood release cable sheath and pull on it. This should healp release the latch.

I have had this situation happen, and there isn't a whole lot of ways to avoid replacing the cable once you get it open.

Hey there old Pal! Glad to see you are still with us ;).

Thanks JerryLP. I'm not looking forward to this.

Guy,
Sweet ride. I was in Bean Town on the 13th of Nov for my daughters wedding but got so trashed I never did get to see anyone:D Oh well! The 6'' of snow didn't help much either:mad Boy! That brought back some memories. :puke

Carlo :D how goes the new job and home??

If you can reach up under the drivers side and grab the cross cable for the hood release, you MAY be able to pull it and get the passengers side to release... IF NOT..

Under the back of the hood on the firewall there is a rubber or plastic plug that will give you access to the locking mech.. It is NOT easy to get to this plug, but it is there specifically for this very reason (hood not releasing) ;) you can either use a screw driver to push the mech to open or you can use a piece of wire (no more wire hangers.....) to jossel it to open..

Here are two photo's of the plug I'm refering to.. ;) Good hearing from you.. don't be a stranger... bro ;)

Thanks Bro. When I get some time I'll get into it.
I may be moving to KY so here I go again. Not 100% sure but it's pretty close. And you wonder why I disappear:L I don't even have enough time to unpack my computer.
Take care my friend and give my best to the DawG!

Where in KY? I am here in Louisville which is a nice city, especially if you like college sports.

Right On LanceB. Louisville it is or nearby. I'll give you a shout if it happens. Living in FL , college sports !!! We rule.:_rock

hood cables

Once you get your hood open via the access plug, if your cable has the little plastic tip broke off, just fix it! Take an old hose clamp and cut a couple inches off of it and wrap it tightly around the cable and drill it and screw it fast. Don't embarass yourself by going to the GM dealer and paying $40 for another fully plastic cable. You'd think the eggheads that design this stuff would give you a little more for your money! Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Carlo my brother.... indeed it has been too long pal. I'm due in Ocala in March assuming I do not transition out of my current job. We'll have to go over to Sebastian Inlet and pretend we're on Los Olas Blvd and A1A again. hahahaaha I will let you know. Hope all is well with Mai and the doggies and please pass along my best wishes. If I find my way down there sooner I'll call you directly.
