She was winking at me when I bought her. Being too lazy to actually take apart motor and replace plastic gears with brass I bought an entire assembly from a socal boneyard for $50.(saw same thing on net for $500) Solved problem for 3 months until.....pulled knob out one night and one up one down in out in out both up no light pull harder and working but no light....Oh yah thats a 25 year old switch. Confirmed my suspicions when knob and rod came completely out in my hand. Will be keeping an eye on the sun till new switch arrives; cant wait to spend x amount of hours installing it. Anybody out there have to replace one of these b4? Already rebuilt dig dash cluster so know about pulling plastic and cluster.:w

Its not too bad. Pull the dash pad, and figure out how to unscrew the slotted nut on the outside that holds it in place, and its cake after that. Using 2 small screw drivers and twisting works...good 'nuff.
If I remember right, that shaft is designed to come out. There is a locking clip on the switch.. These headlite switches get pretty hot, so yeah, 25 yrs is pretty good service.

I Know right? went to grocery store 2day. "NICE CAR!!" from random strangers. little do they know how much love and work it takes. Then I read about guys that wreck $50,000+ vettes. You should have to fill out a "Vette application" B4 being allowed to buy lol:boogie
