Your Opinions PLZ!! - Vette I'm looking to buy

Can I get some opinions on what ya'all think this car is worth?

I found an 04 convertible, 1SB, 42,700 miles, triple black, straight car. Has sub rub rash on the nose, prolly from a car cover the way it looks, NEW GY Eagle F1 tires ($2050 installed here in town), N73 Mag wheels. A few nicks and scratches in the paint (it is 8 years old, 9 model years), and the door panel material is coming loose on both doors on the arm rest area. The top has the usual (I think) fold patterns. The dealer has it at $23,995. I know the new tires help tremendously (to me), but I think realistically it should be round $22,500. The dealer acquired the car already having the new tires on it. The dealer also said the paint was coming off the exhaust. He was very honest and open about the flaws and defects. It has the ebossed material on the underside of the hood, and a 'plastic cover' on the underside of the trunk lid.

It has some pits in the nose from being driven, interior A+ (driver seat, left bolster seems to have been redone) NO SELECTIVE RIDE CTRL,

It doesn't seem to be abused, just driven and enjoyed. I understand no used car is perfect, I just dont know how lenient to be with a C5.

With the miles on the car, and the visable wear issues, that would be a $20K car around here. The dealer should be easy to work with since we are at labor day, and the beginning of the slow selling seasons for Vettes. You might be in a a good bargaininng position.

That sounds a bit strong to me also. Is it the dealer in So. Dakota? If so he is always high in my opinion. I just sold a 90K 02 Mag Red coupe Z51 HUD new Michilins etc...for 16K. The interior was very good and paint also. If you can get him to 20, 21K you should be in good shape. I don't know why the door cards are doing that? Moving up 2 years and a vert to boot so that is worth something but its a buyers market and like Catbert says we are heading into fall and winter.....
