Z06 - Aluminum RIM CLEANING

FYI...

For the Z06 owners that like the inside of the Aluminum Rim to be as CLEAN as the outside.

When I 1st got the vehicle it was a pain to try to clean the inside of the rim. I like the look of the clean sparkling rim at the Z06 pattern allows you to see the brake calipers and the inside of the rim.....

What I found works best is a refrigeration brush with a old sock placed over the brush end. I wash the car and shortly after use this apparatus and it works great!!

not sure what a refrigeration brush is, but i use a motorcycle spoke brush. this works great especially with a commercial wheel cleaner. pretty sure i got mine at www.properautocare.com

The refrigeration brush I am refering to is used to clean the coils of a refrigerator. It is a couple feet long wood shaft with soft brush on 1/2 of the length. The brush area does have some metal so thats why I use a sock so the rim does not scratch. The advantage is that the brush end will fit in narraow passages between the rims and rear calipers. The brush will not fit in between the front brake calipers and the rim as this area is to tight (car needs to be moved a couple of feet to rotate rim to address cleaning this spot).

Anyway this is the best tool I have used as it cleans all the way to the back side of the rim...

This brush can be found at any hardware or home improvement store....

It cost about $3 or $4...
