On last week's Car and Driver Television, they showed spy shots of what they claimed was a Z06 Blue Devil on the track. They stated that it was a car with the LS7 PLUS a supercharger with >600 hp. Has anyone else seen this or heard anything else on such a development?

Sorry if this is a re-post. I did my best to search the site before asking.

If the Blue Devil is produced it should have 3 valves per cyl. and make 600hp easy. The 3 valve moter was supposed to be in the 06 Z06 but engineers found 505 hp with out the extras.

There is a short piece about it in the current Road and Track. The head corvette racing engineer when asked at a race I attended said he only know what he reads on the internet.

I've seen it posted somewhere before. Going to have quite a price attached!

They were saying it would be above $100,000. It doesn't cost that much to put a supercharger on a C6 Z06 and the power increase isn't really that much. My theory is that in addition to those, they are also going to extensively use light weight materials such as carbon fiber. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole body was carbon fiber. I always thought that the C5 Z16 Z06's were just a test bed for what they can do with carbon fiber.

I wouldn't be surprised to also see an all titanium exhaust system.

Even if it was $115,000.00 there isn't another car on the planet that affords the owner that much bang for the buck, period. My base model Porsche 997 costs over 80,000.

I agree.

I agree just buy a C6 ZO6 and supercharge it. Even a larger cam and headers would be an animal.

I really beleive the balance of the c6 Z06 is more than enough to offset any need to supercharge it.

Want a better C6 z06...? Dump the runflat tires for some real tires...

Other than that? I'd leave the car alone..

Of course I said that about the c5 Z06 as well when I first got it... so what the hell do I know anyway! ;)

Compared to spending $100K for a Blue Devil we were saying. The cost to supercharge a C6 ZO6 is still way less than that and walk away with more power.

With headers, a mild cam and a new chip you'll pick up what Chevy left on the table and should be pretty close to 600 HP on the car.

Forced induction will help improve on that some, of course, but would it really be necessary? You'd have a car costing about 75K complete that'll blow the doors off of virtually every exotic built. . .

Then again, too much is never enough. . . ;)

After Market Products

Are there any after market upgrades to the exhaust, air intake, or programming that are available to squeeze somemore horsepower out of the 2006 Z06?

LG has long tube headers....There are many air filter mods to consider...and you'll probably get around 480rwhp with these two...

If you want 505 rwhp you can have LG had a very very mild cam right now that doesn't require the pcm to be retuned...

but my suggestion is to hang back and wait...as the pcm codes will get cracked soon enough and the larger cams will make even more power.

550rwhp with headers/air filter/ cam/ pcm tune doing the trick....
