I just received my Z06 mufflers that i bought on ebay. Can anyone tell me if its a simple swap out or will i need a lift to get the car high enough? Has anyone done this?

Thanks guys.

It can be done by jacking the rear end up but it is easier doing it on a lift. You will have to jack the car up all the to the floor jack's limit and then put the jack stands under the car. It took me about 2 hours that way and about 45 minutes on my lift.

Use the lift, it is 10X easier!! I had it done and it went in fast. The local corvette shop wanted to charge me $200.00 +. Don't let yourself get ripped off, $50-75 is acceptable. Check thru yahoo for directions, or if you can't find any let me know I find where I got mine. You just unbolt the two center points of the rear sway bar and pull it down out of the way. Then there are 2 bolts in that hold the rear bracket and 2 thet connect the muffler to the center pipe. You then just rotate the old one out around the axle and rotate the Z/06 in. Easy. Then just retorque the sway bar bolts when you are done.

FYI - I got mine on Ebay also and have had them on a couple weeks now. They do have a nice rumble, especially with the blackwing up front. However a friend of mine got the B&B quad Bullets. What a difference. They are LOUD!!! But do they sound good :_rock . I am trying to hold out until Carlisle to get a deal but I'm not sure I can wait. So if you can find someone with them before you make the same mistake I made and have to pay two installs.:duh

Thanks, I appreciate everyone's input. The Z06 will be as loud as i will ever want. I have other 'loud' cars to play with.
Thanks again

Not bad, took an hour by jacking car way up. Just enough sound for me. Between the exhaust and a Blackwing, I noticed a difference. Nice!
