I just purchased a 2008 Wil Cooksey 427, on the Z06 as I understand the NPP option was not available yet mine has the actuator and valve in the mufflers. Can anyone advise me on this?

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the :CAC. Those Z06's are beautiful.

As far as I know, the NPP option was available on the 427 Z06's. If you've got the actuators and valves in the exhaust, your car should have the NPP system. One way to test it is to run your RPM's up above 3000. The valves should open and the exhaust will get really loud. :upthumbs

If your exhaust looks like this,It has NPP :thumb

Click!!

NPP std on all Z06

NPP is GM's three letter code for "dual mode exhaust"

NPP is an $ option on standard and Z51 corvettes.

All Z06's including your Will Cooksie 427 special edition come with this feature - it is not an option.

For around $80 you can buy a remote fob activator to override the system, forcing the actuators open at all RPM or allow the system to operate normally. (i.e. open around 3,500 RPM).

As a new Corvette owner you should purchase the Corvette Black Book. This little book will give you more information about all model years and enhance your Corvette experience.
