I'm looking at a 2001. They replaced the stock rear-end with a Z06. What effect will that have on the overall performance? Or bad effects?
Thanks,

The gear ratio on all 6 spd C5s was 3.42:1. The Z06 differential gears were shot peened for added strength, that's the only major difference from the normal C5 differential.cadmando said:I'm looking at a 2001. Shot peened means the gears have been treated by blasting steel shot at the gear surfaces, this strengthens the gears by changing the density of the metal, making the gear more resistant to torque impact loads.cadmando said:What does shot peened mean? Is the gear ratio different? Also it has automatic transmission if that makes any difference
