Saturday I'm looking at a 2003 Z06 w/3000 miles and every avail.option,I know alot about midyear issues to look for,but not much about C5s.Anything you all can suggest to focus my attention on.Thanks Jim

Good luck. My C5 is the most trouble free car I own 2003 is twords the end of the run for C5's so the stuff like seat rock flaky gas gage were fixed. I've never ridden in a Z06 but I can imagine what another 60 HP and better suspension would be like. What Color and where is it?
Craig sr.

Hi Craig,
Its the same Herbs,Red w/ black int. w/chromed wheels. Its located near Bedford,Mich.Only 45 min away.
I'm still torn between buying now or waiting for used 2006...Jim

If you like this one buy it and drive it until the new Z06's start selling at sticker. I was hoping to buy a new DSOM C6 in a few years but they are changing the color after 2006 :cry

Jim,

Still looking for a cheap buy?

Remember, you pay for what you get.

Good Luck...

For what it is worth, I believe that the Z06 only had a few options:
1. Floor mats
2. Body side molding
3. Electrochromatic mirrors.
4. Memory package (almost all have this)
That's about it. Everything else (HUD) is standard.

I used to own a 2001 ZO6 and sold it and bought a 2002 EB ZO6 with 4,000 miles. I love it. Essentially, with those miles, you are buying a new car. Are you buying it from the original owner or a dealer?

I would suggest considering an extended warranty. The best deal around is a GMPP from Fichtner Chevrolet. Believe it or not, prices vary among Chevy dealers and Ken Fichtner sells a ton of these and he's a pleasure to deal with.

Again, do it! You will love the car.

Jim,

Or better yet buy mine as I guarantee it's cleaner and better maintained.

Also, my warranty is still active until spring next year....

Hi Dave,
Your car sounds great, like I said before,I didnt want to waste your time becuase I'm looking to spend a little less than 37k.
Let me know if your open to an offer. I'm going to spend between 34-35K.
Thanks for keeping me in mind.
This car is supposed to be prestine as well.

johnsz06,
I think I like the c5s a little better than the new c6s.At least that what I'm saying rite now.c5 z06 will be plenty fast enough for me.
I'm going to be the 3rd owner if I get this, and not sure of any warranty left. The extended warranty is great idea that I will consider.Oh and its a private owner.
Keep you all posted.(these darn cars a somewhat habit forming) Jim

Get the VIN and try to get a service history report on the car at a dealership.

Or maybe you want too much?

Jim's price range (34-35k) for an '03 sounds entirely reasonable.

Jim,

Like I said my car is "cleaner than new". I know as I am the original owner and the car is cleaner now than when I took delivery.

Factory warranty is valid until Spring of 07.

As I communicated I have a pair of black with red piping/red Z06 embroidered car seat covers ($500) that were installed when I got the car. The original seats have not been sat in.....

B & M Ripper Shifter. Shorter and better shifts than stock shifter. Original shifter is in my possesion, can switch back in an hour if you like.

Best I could consider if to meet between your $ and mine.

Let me know if your interested.

Hi Dave,
I have no dought that your car is worth more than I'm willing to pay.And I'm sure your car is cleaner than the one I'm looking at tomarrow but I'm not the only one involved in this transaction,my wife and I have set a limit at which we are spending.I am interested in yor car and would be willing to look at it tomarrow as well.Anyway- good luck w/ the sale of your car. I hear you on the wife thing and if you are patient enough you will find the right car for you. I had to go fly out to Chicago and drive my 01 Z06 home. 750 miles, 11 hours, 3 gas/food stops, and no tickets. I had to go that far because thats where the right car in the right color, in the right conition was, and most importantly it was in the the right price range(and i got a two year GAMC warranty). :)

Be patient, and good luck.

I agree,I'm in no hurry.I looked at a torch red on saturday and the family thought it was too orangy looking.
I thought it was ok but they have too like it too.
Like you said,I'll find one eventually..It sure was very clean w/3000 milles and prob.could have got it w/in my price range.

Too orange? Torch red grows on you, I wanted any color but black when I bought mine, now I really like the torch red, was it inside?

Are you talking about the seats. Beacause at night my black and red seats look a little orangy but in the light they are RED and Black. I had trouble withis look at first but I know how red they are in the day so I dont even look twice.I love my red Z06 and aftre many vettes I think the red is tops.
