Hi

Last week a brand new Z06 sold at Manheim Pa. for $79,000. So if that tells you something nothing will.

This was a brand new Z06 with under 14 miles on the clock. The dealer will flip this for a quick $10,000 or keep it for the showroom or himself.

This shocked the blank out of myself and other people in the know. But after this l know nothing with the fickle car market.

I thought the list price was in the neighborhood of 68,000 for a new Z06
I guess if you want to be first on your block you pay a little more ;LOL

It's all about ego!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same Z06 in a year or two will be more realistic. And it's no longer a kid's car because of the price.

Recently l have noticed that starting with the C5 the drivers were at least 50 yrs old and older. It's not a car for the young anymore. While l can afford one my wife would make me sleep in it unless l buy here a place in the sun,

And yes l'm 61 yrs old and not a youngster.

auction

the fact that the car went thru the auction for 79 grand just means that dealer was willing to take a gamble on the car making him money.Although there probably is some person out there who will actually pay 10 or 20 grand over msrp,it's not guaranteed and that dealer is really taking a gamble.

Me, personally, I refuse to even pay list for something. If I paid so much over list for anything, I think I would have to be commited before that happened. :L:L:L

Corvette Z06 or not, I wouldn't pay list for it.

I love my guitars but I sure didn't pay list for them.

the dealers have been doing this for years as i remember new 78 pace cars going thru the auction at $20K+ and the sticker was on $14K

Auction!!!!!!!!!

The car could have been bought for a particular customer or a dealer buying it for himself. At the beginning of a limited run the Z06 should bring top dollar because it's really cheap compared to what it is up against.

Remember the ZR-1 and we are talking over 15+ years ago and this rocket Z-06 compared with the ZR-1 is like comparing it to a Yugo at nearly the same price as then.

This makes my C4 feel like a tricycle, but from 0-30 they all feel the same at least that what l tell myself.

Alan

p.s. By the way the C5 Z06 is a screamer and faster then the C6.
