the lambo had a quick initial leap, but lost and kept blipn' the throttle as if to say: "I sound/look cool losing"

Subjective,subjective,subjective...

What speed did they start at? What RPM? What gear? Generally speaking, one car will have an advantage by driving @ the base of their sweetspot while the other car will have to make do with what they have. The Corvette has an advantage because it has decent torque everywhere. The Lambo is more peaky,but when "on the boil" may be able to pull the Corvette. But, it'll fall off and the Chevy will just keep pulling...
