I'm thinking abouting getting the ZR-1 rims 17" X 9 1/2" (fronts) and 17" X 11" (rear) for my 86 coupe non Z-51. Any concerns that I need to have? Tire size recomendations. I'd like to go wider in the rear. Thanks!!

Craig

Id do 275s in front and 315 or 335 in rear.

But if they are rims off a ZR1 or comparable year, they will require a spacer plate to sit correctly.

I should mention that the rims are not OEM, but aftermarket from AFS with the 38 mm offset. Will they still stick out?

Craig

The standard 86 wheel (8.5") has a 32mm offset. The optional 9.5" wheel had a 38mm offset. So the AFS wheels you are going to use have the correct offset (38mm) and should work without any problems.

Before you commit to buying 335's for the rear, you might want to test fit them on your car - a friend tried the 335 on the rear of his 86 and they rubbed the suspension but 315's fit just fine. I admit that I do not know what his wheel's offset is/was though.

Go for it.

If they have the correct offset, they will not stick out in front. But, the 11" rear might still stick out.
