Folks,

I have searched the forum, but have been unable to find any info about the correct positioning of the ZR-1 emblems to the side of the hood like the later cars had. I don't want to "eyeball" the placement. I want the location to be just like the way the factory at BG did them.

I have a set of NOS factory emblems with the two-sided tape and two posts on them. Appears to me that I'll need to drill to holes to the side of my 1991 car if this is what the factory did. I would rather not do that if the tape will hold them on.

My question is:

- Is there a template or measurement for the correct positioning of these side emblems?

Thanks,

DMark

You don't have to drill a hole thru the hood if you don't want to. Just take a blade and cut the plastic post off just below the adhesive tape. The bowtie on the emblem should be about 1 1/2" above the hood opening fromk the fender panel and about 5 1/2" from the opening of the hood nearest the door. These measurements are off my 93 ZR1. Use masking tape on the hood to make a guide for the proper level and placement. Once that emblem makes contact with the hood, it's there for keeps.

THANKS! Just the info I was looking for. :D

Done!

Thanks for the help. I used the measurements of 5.5 inch left and right from the hood/door edge & 1.5 inch from the bottom of the hood edge up to the edge of emblems. I placed masking tape as a guide. I did cut the post off of the emblems, thus no need to drill any holes.

zr-1 side emblems were not put on the zr-1 untill 1992 fyi....
I am aware of that. My ZR-1 is a retired racer, not a future NCRS Top-Flight winner.
