Cool... Heh ..sent you somthing...in a private message...:beer

427 and 454

No problems with either the L88 or the LS7 and using the 850 DP Holley. But both have gobs of HP. :upthumbs

Mark,

Never experienced any bog with ours. It makes you wonder if it was just a defective carb from the start and if a switch to another similar carb would have produced the same results. Seems like you can sometimes chase your tail compensating one fix for another.

Just inadvertantly blew away a detailed response...darn it.....short version is that I COMPLETELY cured my "bog" problem by increasing the #31 squirter to a #37 on the primary side....carbureator diagnosis course 101

Yeah.. I'm starting to think this sounds like that old saying... Don't belive everything you read...So far..with the exception of Kid_Aagain....no ones had any problems.

A #37 Huh.........Ok ..Well if my holley strats to give me problems..it's going right into the trash can..!!! I never really liked Holleys anyway. To much gack inside and they always leaked and blew up power valves.

I'm a carter guy... Simple design...Reliable ..No leaks .. no fancy shmansy jets and vales and other teny weny little parts. I could go on for another page about Holley. It may be a great carb when you get it right ...but to me there's nothing like a simple reliable design like the Edelbrock version of the carter..

OK ..mabe not as good a performer... but I aint gonna worry about bogging and shmoging and peeing all over the intake from a leaky carb...:D

Let me see. Which carb manufacturer did Zora choose for all the SHP and HD big block engines in the screamin' 60s? :gap

Was it a Carter?

Was it a QuadraJet?

Hmmmm........................... I've got the info around here somewhere. ;)
