Hi all,

First post here.

I was reading in the specs page that there were 442 white soft top '04 produced.

I wanted to see if there is someway if I can nail down how many of those were put on Magnetic Red exteriors?

Is there a way I can research this?

Thanks

Hi, Heeter, and Welcome to the :CAC

If you pull the "Tech" tab at the top of this page, you can visit the CAC's Model Center. When I check it for Model Year 2004, it says that 442 (or 4% of the total Production Run for that year) were made with White tops. Unfortunately, it does not cross reference that statistic against exterior colors.

The only way I can think of obtaining information that specific would be to enquire with the National Corvette Museum.

Okay...I amend my post as I should have known that there was a source right here that could have answered a lot of questions. May the CAC gods forgive!

1,648 (13%) of all 2004 Corvette Convertibles that came in Magnetic Red Metallic II.
442 (4%) of all 2004 Corvette Convertibles had white soft tops (as Patrick already mentioned)

So, now to see if there is any other source that can correlate car color to to top color. I am thinking that Patrick's right about the Corvette Museum. I'm having trouble finding anything more that what we have here. Everybody else has pretty much the same info.

My top is Light Oak, but I'm curious about that now! :thumb

Thanks a million,

For your valuable information.

I will check with the corvette museum.

A local dealership general manager mentioned that there was only three models made with the white top/magnetic red combo. I don't believe that number, but it has gotten my attention to research this a little further.

Chevrolet did not record options in that manner. And because they didn't, there is no way the National Corvette Museum will have such information either. And as far as that general manager at the local dealership knowing, well, those guys don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground. They will say anything to try to impress somebody with their vast knowledge. But have you ever heard one of them say, "I don't know."?
It is a shame they didn't record this information since some of the other manufacturers did.
I have wondered how many 2004s were equipped like mine; Arctic White with Torch Red leather, black cloth top, 6-speed transmission, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, etc.. According to the option percentages and through the process of extrapolating, mine works out to be one of about 42 such cars made that year. But that is purely guessing.

Try this site. Comprehensive GM VIN Decoder
You enter your VIN and search, it will show some options that your car may or may not have. Check them off as best as you can. It is suppose to show you exactly how many were built just like yours in that year.
