Replacing front carpet set on 81 vette

Hi,

Not knowing what is involved with replacing the carpet in a 81 vette, has anyone done this recently ? If you order the capet through Ecklers, does it come with instructions?

I replaced the all the carpet last winter and the front is the easiest. Got mine from Wilcox and the only instructions was to show where the pieces went. You should get both floor pieces, the kick panels and the side console strips. No triming was required on the floor parts but kick panels did require some triming. The side console fiber board on my car was broke and worn out so I went with the leather covered aftermarket console covers and really liked them. You will have to remove the seats, rocker panel strips, seat belt recievers and kick panels. Of course once you get the old carpet out you might find rust issues. The back was much more difficult but you should not have much trouble with the front

You can order precut padding from the vendors or go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get Reflectix which is like bubble wrap coarted with mylar on both sides (find it in the insulation aisle) and its very efficient, cheap, and easy to install with a little spray adhesive. It's commonly used by members here for their carpet replacements.

Excellent suggestion - I really appreciate the help!
