I continue to look for my dream car. I've found another 2007 down in Orlando that looks interesting. I've been told that it has the 3LT package on it but I don't see the power top that I understand to be included with that trim package. It also has standard suspension and exhaust, which are not a big concern for me. Do you think this has the 3LT trim package? Am I missing anything else? I've emailed the guy asking if he has the window sticker or other documentation of the options as delivered.

Thanks for everyone's continued help. I don't know anything about the C6, though I am learning, and appreciate it.

Bob,

It does have a power top. I can see the "button" on the left side of the steering wheel. That's what you need to look for.

Very nice looking car Bob. :w Nav, low miles, power top and great color. Hope you are able to make a great deal.

Thanks for the feedback Roger. I've asked for some additional information and am trying to figure out how to handle long distance negotations.

Bob, I can help you with those long-distance "stuff".

Elaine

Thanks Elaine. You've been very helpful.

I'm assuming that they have a little more room and would like to see the car sold at $35,000 or under. Should I negotiate the price with contingenices, drive the car, inspection, verfication of claimed accessories, etc., or should I go down and drive it first. Or do you have another thought?

Is there a web site out there where you can enter in a VIN and determine the option packages that a car came with?

Have the send you a photo of the options listed on the car and any other info you think you need in a email.

Then, if you feel comfortable - email them your "best one time offer" and let the wheels roll till they meet your price.

Hi Bob!

First of all, I am going to miss your C3. I guess tis true that all good things must come to an end.

Very nice looking C6!

Yes, there is a website: Comprehensive Chevrolet, Saturn, GMC, Hummer, Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Geo, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep, Chrysler, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda Truck, Mercedes VIN Decoder

You will obtain a listing of every piece of equipment on that vehicle.

And at the bottom, a percentage of other Vettes equipped exactly like that one.

Very cool.......:cool!:

Keep us posted as to what you do.

:w

Thanks for the advice Roger. We're still trading emails.

That site is fantastic Gregory. If I read it right the car has the 3LT package that they represented it had.

I think I should make an offer. I'm thinking $34,500.

Bob, how far are you from that dealer? If not far, then by all means go there and do your negotiations in person. At least, pick up the phone and speak to someone in the sales department instead of emails back and forth. Ask them the questions you have and if you're happy with those answers, then talk money. Be prepared to give them a credit card deposit. $500 would be fine. Make sure that the deposit is contingent upon your approval of the car in person and plan to getting there very quickly. We do that all the time as we deal with people all over the country and the world, actually. We do NOT keep the deposit unless it was on a very, very special car!

I'll walk you through the rest of the process as you get further.

I also recommend skipping down to Orlando this weekend .

I'm willing to bet that you can negotiate about 7-10 % off that price in person .

Bob,

Remember, this is a triple black convertible which translates into constant cleaning!! The Atomic Orange in Orlando is, I think, a more desirable color. Just my opinion. Also, I didn't see any pictures on this black one, just the one that is in the ad which is a file photo.

Thanks for everyone's help. I made an offer of $34,000 to a sales person. He presented it to his manager and came back and said they are firm at their list price. I explained to him that I'm going to look at another car more favorably equipped, it appears about the same but has the Z51 handling package, that is listed at $35,000 here in Atlanta this evening. I also told him about another car I have seen at the same price as his by a private seller, with no taxes, etc.

He offerred to go see if he could get his manager to match the price. I told him $34,000 and that the fish may not be on the hook tomorrow. It's been an hour so I guess they didn't reject it out right. I understand that he has a couple of other interested parties so they are probably calling around telling them that they are about to lose the car if they don't act fast.

Like I said there are thousands of C6 vetts for sale .I understand the empty garage syndrome but I'd advise ya to just be patient .

I hear you. I'm a no nonsense kind of guy. I made a fair offer and there is no room to move. While they haven't accepted it, I have received 3 calls from three different people at the dealership and told them the same story.
