I am considering stepping up from my C4 to a C5. I can find a ton of them with 100K miles and above, the lower mileage ones are just to expensive. What concerns should I have with these higher mileage C5 cars? What should I look for on these cars? I am an old guy and drive like one. You know 25mph, left turn signal on, slouched down in the seat and continuously hitting the brakes. I put around 5,000 miles per year on a car and keep them up as they should be. One reason for moving to the C5 is easier entry and exit. Tanks for you inputs.

You should be fine if you buy it at the right price. Just plan for the costs of maintenance items to address brakes, fluids, hoses, etc. Would be nice to get detailed maintenance records.

The C5 has a lot of electronics in it but we can help you with anything that comes up. We know all the normal issues.

DO NOT buy a car until you pull the DIC codes before you drive and record them. Then go for a drive and pull them again afterwards and record them.

Post them for us to see, if any. The dealer may have cleared them but if there are any issues you will see them after the drive.

Here is how to do it:

PS: Also meant to mention I would recommend getting a 2001 or newer. Parts for these years are easier to get or fix like the EBCM.

I am interested in selling mine. 2002 white auto 55k miles. PM me.

Thanks or the input. The method to retrieve codes will be invaluable while I search for a car. Again Thanks.

I have a 99 with 108k on it, am currently on a 5000 mile road trip with no issues. maintenance is the key.
