what is a good size head for stock 350 4 speed 3.7 rearend in 72 vette with a Edelbrock performer manifold and a step up from stock cam? What is the cc and port sizes . I understand valve sizes, but how do know know what cc and port size you have. Thanks for any help, Bob.

I went with the aluminum Edelbrock Perfromer RPM heads (#60899) with 64cc chambers. I bought mine from Summit completly assembled with springs (that can withstand up to .575 lift), guide plates, and stainless steel valves... "Bolt-on power, right out of the box..."

While the Edelbrock intake and heads have done well for me, I opted for the Sealed Power camshaft (actually, I removed the Edelbrock Perfromer RPM cam... long story).

Like you, I also have the 3.70 rear, and a 4 speed (M-21 rebuilt to M-22 specs). I am happy with this set-up -- very powerful.

Ralph, thanks for the info, I'm wondering if the 1.94x1.50 valves would be better for me ,you have a bigger cam then I do. I heard that the 1.94x1.50 flows just as well as 2.02x1.60 , don't know how true that is.

I suggest asking someone at Eddlebrock what heads the recommend for the intake manifold you're using. Of course they'll also try to sell you a camshaft and a carburetor to make a complete package....

I had terrible luck and received BAD advice from Edelbrock. I had posted that experience in CAC... I'd have to try and find it.

The best head for a 350 with a mild cam and the Edelbrock Performer is your existing cylinder heads. I'd give 'em a multi-angle valve job and some basic porting and polishing.

Hib, any thoughts on 64cc 2.02-1.60 heads or 1.94-1.50 64cc which would give me more compression, I probably have 8.5, and keep stock pistons ?
