ok...first start off with status of the '60 Vette

We put an addition on the house and I have almost all of my free time working on finishing the room (hardwood floors, etc) so the '60 is still at Bob Bakers. He finished up the electrical wiring and got the motor broke in after the leak was sorted out (water leaking into the motor someplace, in all probability leaking at the intake manifold from me changing it out to the EFI manifold). It needs the master cylinder iinstalled as well as the steering put back in.

Here are some latest photos that I took at Bob's a week ago....

Nice '37 Herb. Everyone needs a hot rod. Is that a Downs body? What's under it? We need to see the details. :D

Manotti body, tube style frame, Ford 9" with 4 link, 4.10 posi, 502 cu in supercharged (runs on pump gas - 8.5:1 CR), Door poppers, leather interior and head liner, wood trim on doors and dash, pop up DVD player in dash, wired to be plugged in and run the lights without wiping the battery out at shows, lots of chrome on the motor and underneath. Rear tires are 18" wide Mickey Thompson on Hallibrand wheels. Pro Street roll bar in car. Car has a history of shows on the West Coast.

I need to move the seats back a couple of inches since there is room to do that and give me a bit more room.

When I get the car, I will take some more photos and get some from underneath as well.

Sounds like a :cool car. I was hoping that the engine wasn't really a plastic moch-up and the car was actually electric. I was trying to think of Minotti but couldn't remember the name. Downs hasn't made their version near as long. I have no idea how the two compare. I hope to see it sometime.

the electric hook up is so that the car can be shown with its running lights on. It has a converter built into the car enabling it to show with the lights and not have the battery run down.

There are a lot of little details in the car that make it really nice. Keeping it clean and polished will be the challenge....Black cars look great when they are polished up...when they are dirty they are the WORSE!

Stay tuned for some shots from the underneath when I get it to the house and up on the lift....

Great looking 37, but it is not RED! How will your vettes reconcile this? BTW, the 60 is just incredible - thanks for keeping us posted. i'd sure like to see it in person some day.

every family needs a black sheep (black car and a Ford....2 for one....but Chevy Powered with 502 cu in!)

unfortuantely that was exactly how I felt when I saw it....OMG....was it ever so cool....and it had people coming up to it all day at the auction looking at it...I plan on taking it to the Cleveland Autorama in March along with the '60...that should be a fun time as well!

I thought you were going to be thinning the heard not adding to it.
not yet.....in fact, bought a '63swc earlier in the summer....so not thinning yet....

Herb,

Are you looking to adopt any kids? I hear my mom is looking to give one away. :D

We were just talking about the 36-37 fords when we went lunch.
Next time you come, we'll talk about the Saleen S7. :beer

No, not me.

I had said after the Vette the 36-37 ford was my 2nd favorite car. And now you bought one.
lol.....no I mean what is the story with the Saleen? Buy one? Race one? what is the story????

After having the vette (dream car) and 36-37 ford (hot rod). The next car would be Saleen S7 (autobahn racer). :D

After the family, health, and those cars, I would be in Heaven!
